600 African American Collegiate Leaders Attending Leadership Development & Training
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated is proudly hosting 600 collegiate leaders from around the globe at the Annual International Undergraduate Summit in Houston, Texas, January 19-22, 2017 at the Westin Galleria Hotel. A progressive slate of activities has been planned that will provide deliberate global leadership training and development for these dynamic young men who are successful scholars and high achievers who progressively exemplify the excellence and intentional goals of the Founders of the Fraternity.
Activities include Advisors Training; Financial Literacy; the GE/STEM Program; The Fatherhood Initiative; Interviewing and Networking Techniques in a Panel Discussion; Worship with Brother Dr. Staccato Powell, Grand Chaplain and Bishop of the Western Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Zion Church; Scholarship; The Brother You're On My Mind Initiative; Career and Graduate School/Professional Fair; Violence Prevention and so much more. Brother Bobby Kimbrough, an International Security Expert with more than 30 years of Law Enforcement experience and author of Surviving The Stop will be the Keynote Speaker at the Luncheon on Friday, January 20th at 12:30 p.m. in the Galleria Ballroom. Houston is home to the NASA Program and on Saturday, January 21st, The Ronald E. McNair Luncheon
will be held in honor of the distinguished career of Brother Ronald E. McNair with Brother Ben Crump, Esq., as the Keynote Speaker at 11:45 a.m. in the Galleria Ballroom.
Brother Antonio F. Knox, Sr., 40th Grand Basileus stated, "The Supreme Council and the leadership of the Fraternity have worked tirelessly to provide a great experience and ensure that these incredibly gifted young members of our Brotherhood receive the best tools to enhance their education and post-graduate experiences. They are the future of the Fraternity and our world and I am so proud of the remarkable young men who are the hallmark of our next generation of leaders. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on November 17, 1911, at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and is the first international fraternal organization to be founded on the campus of a historically black college.
