Welcome to The 80th Grand Conclave
"The Grand Basileus Stresses the Critical Importance of Continuous Hydration While in Las Vegas"

Vegas ConclaveAtlanta, GA (May 17, 2016) For many months, the dedicated leadership of the Supreme Council and the 12th District's Grand Conclave Planning Committee have worked collegially and strategically to lay out an excellent agenda and course of action for members from around the globe who will convene in Las Vegas, Nevada for the business of the 80th Grand Conclave of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, July 21-28, 2016. The purple and gold carpet of Brotherhood is ready to be rolled out in the progressive and welcoming spirit of "Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift!" Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino is the host hotel and the grandeur of this venue is a perfect setting for the great fellowship, business and renewal of kindred hearts and minds of the Brotherhood. Brother Leon Pearson, Jr., is the Grand Marshal.

Registration is currently underway online and on trend to set a new record of participation! The heartbeat of Omega continues to pound with tenets of relentless commitment to the community. Many wonderful components are slated and include the Youth Leadership Conference that will be held on the campus of UNLV Wednesday, July 20th through Saturday, July 23rd. The official kickoff on Sunday, July 24th, will feature a Criminal Justice Reform Panel on "Black Lives Matter," a Job Fair, Graduate/Professional School Education Fair, Health Fair and the Exhibits and Vendors will open in the host hotel. The Undergraduate Caucus will be held on Monday, July 25th under the leadership of Brother Anthony Kadri, 2nd Vice Grand Basileus. The pulse of Omega remains on the cutting edge of championing mental health issues for African American men and on Tuesday, July 26th a Plenary Session on the Fraternity's Initiative, "Brother You're On My Mind" will be held. Every year more than 40 million Americans struggle with mental illness but African American men are less likely to get help. A featured article on the dynamic efforts of the Fraternity forward with this powerful programmatic Initiative will be highlighted in the July Issue of Essence Magazine. The Public Program will feature distinguished Omega College Presidents and Religious Leaders from around the nation. A prolific Social Action Project, "Building Bridges Back to Society" will allow designated members of Omega to visit the Nevada Department of Corrections, Southern Desert Correctional Center on Thursday, July 28th to provide presentations, guest speakers and practical tools of empowerment that will equip ex-offenders to successfully return to their respective communities. In tandem with the President's national initiative of prison reform, Brother Thabiti Boone will bring remarks from the White House. Another Social Action program, Opportunity Village, will bring kids of the community together at the Doolittle Senior Center for a fun football camp with Omega members that play in the NFL. A basketball camp will also be held at the Mirabellli Community Center. The business of the Grand Conclave will feature Plenary Sessions that will allow for the Fraternity to continue making major imprints on the fabric of global humanitarianism.

Brother Antonio F. Knox, Sr., 40th Grand Basileus stated, "The 80th Grand Conclave is a time to show the great things that the Fraternity has accomplished by working together. We have so much to be proud of but there is so much more to be done. I strongly encourage everyone that will come to Las Vegas to please hydrate well prior to coming and certainly while in the city with the sweltering temperatures of July that normally reach over 100 degrees. Your safety is priority! We look forward to a great Grand Conclave."

Since its humble beginnings on the Howard University campus, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity continues to be on the front line, leveraging its power, influence and more than 100 years of commitment to the uplift of our people and our communities.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on November 17, 1911, at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and is the first international fraternal organization to be founded on the campus of a historically black college.
