Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Issues Emergency Call to Action for Victims of Flooding in Louisiana
Members of the Ninth District Affected and Assisted!
Support Flood VictimsAtlanta, GA (August 15, 2016)An emergency Call to Action has been issued by the International Leadership of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., in an effort to provide relief to the members of the Ninth District and their families that have been affected by the torrential flooding in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and surrounding areas. The city has been ravaged by the flood waters and so many have lost everything that they own to this crisis. Brother Dr. Kenneth Terrell, Ninth District Representative stated, "There will be no Brother left behind!"

Brother Antonio F. Knox, Sr., 40th Grand Basileus, rallied progressive and swift action of the Fraternity to engage an immediate response. He stated, "It is our immediate fraternal duty to rise in assistance to help our members that live in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas affected. We have set up the Louisiana Disaster Fund that is administered through Omega Charities that will allow Brothers and others from around the country to donate in the true spirit of humanity to help those in this dire, life changing situation. We have already provided $14K in funds to the Brothers and their families but their needs continue and with more financial donations through this Disaster Fund and support efforts from the Fraternity, we will indeed provide more assistance to Brothers and their families in the Ninth District."

The need is real and the Fraternity is asking for your tax-deductible support. To provide financial assistance to those affected, please click on the following link at www.omegacharities.org/donate and select "Support Louisiana Flood Victims" and donate generously through Authorize.net. Brother Knox stated, "We thank you for the tremendous gifts of support that you will provide."

Since its humble beginnings on the Howard University campus, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity continues to be on the front line, leveraging its power, influence and more than 100 years of commitment to the uplift of our people and our communities.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on November 17, 1911, at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and is the first international fraternal organization to be founded on the campus of a historically black college.
