Giving Honor to God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
My brothers, I pray that all is well with you and yours. I'd like to thank the Voter Education Registration and Mobilization team for all that they are doing to insure that Omega plays a major role in this election. I also thank each of you for the roles that you are playing, but I want you to know how important this is to all of us! Brothers Jim Clyburn and Hank Johnson, as well as other members of the Black Caucus, have asked the Council of Presidents for help at this critical time.
What's at stake in this election is many of the positive changes that affect our communities and us, as people. According to the New York Times, a no-show by African Americans will shift the balance of power and our President's Agenda will be wrecked. The following is important to our community:
A. Affordable Health Care
B. Affordable Housing
D. College Funding
E. Voting Rights
F. Minimum Wage
H. Appointment of Supreme Court Judges
I. Upholding the Middle Class
Brothers, these issues affect our entire community and all will be negatively affected with a shift in power in the Senate. Partnering with the Divine Nine, NAACP, Community Organizations, and other historic groups that have fought this fight for over 50 years is imperative. We are not meant to do it alone, but we are meant to lead. We are the leaders of leaders and the men that can educate, mobilize and protect seniors and others from intimidation at the polls.
In Durham and Wake Counties, we are partnering with the NAACP and leading Rallies and Marches to the polls for early voting! Early Voting favors us; let's use our resources to encourage people to use early voting in every state that allows it.
Please review our plan by VERM and take action and let's bind ourselves together as one, to be the impact of exponential force that will not allow our people to be deterred from voting.
We can, because We are One!
