The Emanuel Nine Honored In Remembrance by Omega With Check Presentation
(June 26, 2016) Atlanta, GA Brother Antonio F. Knox, Sr., 40th Grand Basileus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated and other members of the Mighty Sixth District including Brother Howard Jackson, Sixth District Representative, attended the Sunday morning Church service on June 25th at Emanuel A.M.E. Church, "Mother Emanuel" in Charleston, South Carolina. Brother Knox presented a generous gift of $9,000 from the Fraternity in honor of the courageous Emanuel Nine who were senselessly slain June 17, 2015. He stated, "Omega Psi Phi stands with you as we honor the loving memory of the Emanuel Nine. They were our brothers and sisters and it is our privilege to be here to honor their legacy." Brother Jackson also presented a donation of $1,000 on behalf of the Mighty Sixth District.

The Mu Alpha Chapter of Charleston is to be commended on their stellar gifting that will continue to honor the legacy of the Emanuel Nine. A memorial plaque will be presented with an interactive chip in it that will allow each person with a cell phone to access the history of the Emanuel Nine! This is quite remarkable and truly honors the humanitarian commitment and tireless stewardship of the Fraternity. "The legacy of the Emanuel Nine will live in our hearts and minds forever. We will continue to lift the families and community in our prayers."
