It is with great pleasure and distinction that we take time on this Veterans Day to honor and thank those patriots of our great fraternity that have served in the armed forces.

This year bears historic significance as we celebrate the centennial of the end of World War I in 1918. The sacrifices borne by our veterans must be recognized on this Armistice observance, known today as Veterans Day in the United States and Remembrance Day in other countries around the world.

The term "veteran" transcends the conventional definition. It encompasses a person that puts the defense, safety, and needs of others before their own. They run towards danger instead of away from it.

A veteran always dutifully responds to any and all challenges and routinely performs the impossible to ensure our way of life.

The holy ritual reminds us in John 15:13, "Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends."

In that respect, Omega has a rich and cherished tradition of its members answering the call of nations around the world - of being their nation's sword and shield.

Whether enlisted or officer, "Service and Sacrifice" are the watch words of Omega men who proudly serve in various locations around the world.

Since the early years of Omega, in the fell clutch of conflict or humanitarian relief, from Europe to Africa, the Middle East to Central Asia, Omega men have stood strong and placed themselves in harm's way - leading and sacrificing, in service to their countries and others.

From two of our founders to the newly initiated members, Omega men have persevered in the face of adversity to ensure the freedoms gained and the sacrifice of generations past are not lost.

As we observe Veterans Day, let us remember our brothers that have answered the call of duty to preserve the freedoms we so richly enjoy.

It is with sincere pride that we salute you and thank you for your "Service and Sacrifice." You are truly some of the best Omega has to offer.

God Bless our veterans and their families.
