The International Leadership Conference To Convene in Cincinnati, Ohio

Atlanta, GA (July 12, 2017) The International Leadership Conference will convene in Cincinnati, Ohio August 1-6, 2017 with dynamic activities that will powerfully impact the Fraternity and the community. Dr. David Marion, 1st Vice Grand Basileus has worked tirelessly with the Conference Committee of the 4th District to provide a very comprehensive and dynamic agenda that will allow the Grand Officers and the membership to conduct the progressive business of elevating the great work, policies, protocol and life changing directives of Omega. The Beta Iota Chapter is ready to roll out the purple carpet of welcome. The core meetings for members will be held at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati with Breakout Sessions beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3rd. The Fraternity is relentlessly committed to providing leadership initiatives and scholarship opportunitiesfor students and a curriculum driven Youth Leadership Conference will be held August 3rd at the University of Cincinnati from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for young men with Brother Ricky Lewis, Chairman of the International Youth Leadership Committee at the helm. Vendors will be onsite at the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati beginning Friday, August 4th at 8:00 a.m.

Omega is continuously committed to leaving communities better by providing an open invitation to the public to impactful forums and programs that educate and empower. The first public program will be moderated by Brother Benjamin Crump, Esq., the attorney for the family of Trayvon Martin who was killed in Florida on The Importance of Jury Duty on Friday, August 4th at 4:00 p.m. with an accomplished slate of Panelists in the Regency Ballroom A-D. Panelists include Marilyn Mosby, Esq., Baltimore District Attorney who prosecuted police in the Freddy Gray case will be a part of the Panel and she is the wife of Brother Nick Mosby; Dr. Tiffany Crutcher, Sister of Terence Crutcher who was killed on video in Oklahoma while walking back to his vehicle with his hands up; Brother Anthony Scott who is the brother of Walter Scott who was killed by Charleston, South Carolina police; Brother James Stewart, Esq., a former judge and current District Attorney for Shreveport, LA; Robbie Tolan is a survivor of a police shooting and is the son of former major league baseball great Bobby Tolan and Marian Tolan, his mother will round out this powerful panel. The public is also invited to attend the International Talent Hunt Demonstration featuring stellar students from across the nation that will be held Friday at 8:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati. Students will receive scholarship assistance. The public is welcome to attend The Political Advocacy: Access to Power forum at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 5th in the Hyatt's Regency Ballroom A-D with Brother Hank Johnson, Honorable Representative and Brother Mark Jackson, International Government Relations. Brother Steve Harvey will host The Principles of Success in Business and Life with Brother Ricky Lewis in the Regency Ballroom A-G at 2:30 p.m.. The final public program is The State of Fraternities and Sororities will be hosted by the Divine Nine International Presidents and moderated by Brother Michael Bowie and Brother Will Jemison at 4:00 p.m. in the Regency Ballroom A-G.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on November 17, 1911, at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and is the first international fraternal organization to be founded on the campus of a historically black college.
