75 Years of Brotherhood: Bro. ‘Jimmy’ Clemons’ Diamond Anniversary Jubilee
On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the Rho Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Lake Charles proudly presented the Diamond Anniversary Jubilee honoring Bro. James “Jimmy” Albert Clemons, Jr. (ΒΣ ’49) for his 75th Anniversary in the fraternity.
The event, held at the West Cal Cam Arena in Sulphur, LA, was a powerful tribute to Bro. Clemons’ unwavering dedication and service to Omega Psi Phi. The evening opened with a lively cocktail hour featuring the soulful sounds of saxophonist Jeremy “JB Saax” Benoit, setting the tone for a night filled with celebration and reflection. During the banquet, Bro. Clemons was honored alongside our Achievement Week awardees, highlighting the tremendous impact he has made over the years. As a pivotal figure in Omega Psi Phi, Bro. Clemons not only exemplifies the fraternity’s principles but also helped charter the Rho Chi Chapter in 1955, further strengthening Omega’s presence and mission in the Lake Charles community.
His 75 years of service represent a lifetime of leadership, mentorship, and commitment to uplifting others. The celebration continued with an unforgettable performance by the Total Control Band and a special guest appearance by our brother saxophonist Michael Kittling. The Rho Chi Chapter extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us in honoring Bro. Clemons and making the event a success. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, and we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate a Brother whose contributions to Omega and the community remain unparalleled.
