To the Basileus, Officers, Charter Members, Quettes, and Friends of Omicron Xi Nu Chapter:
Fraternal Greetings,
“Friendship is essential to the soul.”
It is with profound joy and historical reverence that I greet you on behalf of the Supreme Council and the international brotherhood of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. as we celebrate the official chartering of the Omicron Xi Nu Chapter in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Since November 17, 1911, when our revered Founders—Bishop Edgar Amos Love, Dr. Oscar James Cooper, Professor Frank Coleman, and Dr. Ernest Everett Just—established this fraternity, Omega men have served as catalysts for change. The chartering of Omicron Xi Nu represents more than organizational growth; it represents a homecoming. By anchoring Omega Psi Phi in Jamaica, we forge an enduring bridge connecting the resources, talent, and passion of the global African diaspora directly with the vibrant soil of Jamaica.
To our charter brothers—the Reggae Quez: You have embodied Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. You have worked deliberately to establish a chapter grounded in service, dedicated to mentoring young men, and committed to academic excellence. Your perseverance has opened a new corridor of leadership within our International District.
As we open this commemorative digital journal, I place this charge upon the shoulders of Omicron Xi Nu: Let your impact be tangible. Let your mentorship be transformative. Let your brotherhood be genuine. Be the beacon that the youth of St. James can look toward with pride and hope.
To the visiting brothers, delegates, Quettes, and distinguished dignitaries joining us at the Montego Bay Convention Centre: thank you for standing witness to history. May this chartering celebration ignite a legacy of service that will resonate across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean for generations to come.
Congratulations, Omicron Xi Nu. Lift as you climb.
Fraternally and faithfully submitted,
Mark E. Jackson,
Grand Basileus, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
