Brothers,
Over the past 18 months, we all looked for ways to persevere during a worldwide pandemic. Experts have noted that the Delta variant is going to be the most serious virus that people get in their lifetime, in terms of the risk of hospitalization and the fact that it is so contagious that the unprotected willlikely get it. Because of the rapid rise of infection rates and hospitalizations and the fact that fully vaccinated individuals can become infected and asymptomatically spread the virus, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has updated its COVID-19 recommendations for mask wearing. The CDC recommends that you wear a mask both inside and outside, regardless of your
vaccination status.
Given that, in consultation with the Supreme Council, our Covid-19 Task Force, and legal team, Omega will pivot. It is the direction of my office, that Omega men wear masks at all in-person meetings and all in-person Omega events and initiatives, social gatherings, and community service activities, regardless of your vaccination status.
I thank each of you, my brothers, for your dedication and diligence in adhering to the rules and regulations put in place to ensure that we make it to the other side of this pandemic safely. This guidance is given in the spirit of protecting
you, your family, your friends, and our fraternity. The Bible says, I have never seen the righteous forsaken……
We will get there.
In Friendship,
