Omega 1000 for 1000 Campaign

OMEGA 1000 FOR 1000 FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

JUNE 1, 2020

Omega’s genesis at Howard University uniquely shaped our foundation and position as the premier organization for Black men. Holding the distinction as the first Divine Nine fraternity founded at a Historically Black College, Omega also has held a long tradition of support for the growth and sustainability of our HBCUs.

Considering this, I am proud to formally announce the Omega 1000 for 1000 fundraising campaign to assist our HBCUs. Over the next 12 months, 1000 Brothers are asked to donate $1,000 for a combined fund of $1 million, all in support of our beloved HBCUs. Beginning June 1, 2020, until May 31, 2021, you may donate via the Omega Life Membership Foundation (OLMF) at olmf.org in one lump sum or multiple sums throughout the year. You may visit www.OLMF.org to make your tax-deductible donation electronically by entering your donation amount and noting “Omega 1000 for 1000” or “HBCU Initiative” in the description box; or by check to:

The current climate in America has left many of our beloved institutions in a precarious financial position. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, our schools were already challenged with limited enrollment and critical infrastructure needs. In each instance, the ongoing pandemic has only served to exacerbate those issues; particularly with evident inequities in federal support and uncertainty on when our children will be able to safely resume in-person learning.

Our HBCUs were born to provide an education to our community when few schools welcomed us. Over the past 150+ years, not only have HBCUs been the epicenters of quality education and civil organizing, they’ve grown to be the cultural and social centerpiece of our communities today. To this cause, I am asking all Omega men, their families, their companies and foundations to support this worthy cause to ensure the future of our schools for generations to come.

Fraternally,

Brother David Marion, PhD
41st Grand Basileus
