Omega Serves Where Omega Stands is more than a statement—it is a reflection of who we are and how we respond when members of our community are hurting. During the 85th Grand Conclave in Cincinnati, the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. stood in solidarity with the family of Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old college student whose tragic death has left his loved ones searching for answers, truth and justice.
As Nolan’s mother and father were welcomed before the Brotherhood, the room echoed with the call, “Justice for Nolan Wells.” Their presence served as a solemn reminder that our responsibility to uplift extends beyond programs and public service. It also requires us to stand beside families during their most difficult moments and ensure they do not have to carry their burdens alone.
Nolan’s mother expressed the impact of the support surrounding the family, saying, “When I tell you the love, the prayers, the strength—it is palpable.” She spoke of the hugs, encouragement and repeated calls for justice that have strengthened the family’s resolve. Every expression of support reinforced their commitment to continue fighting—not only for Nolan, but for other Black and Brown families who may also find themselves searching for answers.
Nolan’s father spoke from the heart as both a parent and protector. He thanked the members of Omega and others who have used their voices and platforms to keep Nolan’s story before the public. “For you guys to step up for us in the social media world, it really helps keep me awake,” he shared. He also urged anyone with information surrounding Nolan’s death to contact the family’s legal team, emphasizing that no parent should ever have to receive a call asking, “Have you seen my child?”
One thing Omega will always do is surround our family and friends with an unbreakable circle of love. Because Friendship Is Essential to the Soul, we stand shoulder to shoulder in times of grief, uncertainty and struggle. Guided by the Cardinal Principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift, we offer strength, amplify the voices of those seeking answers and remain steadfast in the pursuit of truth and justice.
The support shown to Nolan’s family represents Omega at its best—a Brotherhood using its collective strength, influence and compassion to uplift those in need. It demonstrates that friendship is not merely spoken; it is expressed through presence, advocacy, prayer and action.
As the Wells family continues its pursuit of answers, Omega Psi Phi stands with them. We will continue to speak Nolan’s name, support his loved ones and join the call for a complete and transparent accounting of the circumstances surrounding his death.
This is who we are. This is what we do.
Omega Serves Where Omega Stands.
Justice for Nolan Wells.
