Howard University’s Coach Courtenay Miller (ΑΩ ’09) continues to make waves—both in and out of the pool—as he was recently named the 2025 NEC Men’s Diving Coach of the Year. A Chicago native and former standout diver for Howard University, Coach Miller has been instrumental in developing elite divers, fostering a culture of perseverance, and securing Howard’s place in history. His leadership was pivotal as the Bison men’s swimming and diving team clinched the 2025 NEC Championship, marking their second title in three years and making NCAA history with the first-ever podium sweep by three Black divers.
Beyond competition, Coach Miller’s impact extends far deeper—mentoring student-athletes, ensuring they excel academically, and reinforcing Howard’s tradition of excellence in HBCU aquatic sports. With his guidance, the program continues to break barriers, shatter records, and inspire the next generation of Black swimmers and divers. Congratulations to Coach Courtenay Miller on this well-deserved honor and his continued legacy of excellence at Howard University!
