Bro. Xavier Brunson (ΓΕ ’90) has made history as the fourth Omega man to achieve the prestigious rank of Four-Star General in the United States Army. A son of a retired Army sergeant major and a proud product of Fayetteville, North Carolina, General Brunson’s life reflects the very essence of perseverance and uplift.

A Distinguished Military Career

Commissioned as an Infantry Officer upon graduating from Hampton University in 1990, Bro. Brunson set his sights on excellence early in his career. His remarkable service includes leadership roles across both conventional and special operations forces, such as the 82nd Airborne Division and Delta Force. He has commanded the 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade and the 7th Infantry Division and served as Deputy Commanding General of I Corps at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. His contributions span multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, showcasing his strategic expertise in modern military operations.

In September 2024, General Brunson was confirmed by the U.S. Senate for promotion to Four-Star General and appointed as the Commander of U.S. Forces Korea (USFK). In this critical role, he oversees approximately 28,500 U.S. troops stationed on the Korean Peninsula, ensuring readiness and stability in a complex and dynamic region. General Brunson also leads the Combined Forces Command and United Nations Command, furthering his commitment to global security and partnership with allied forces.
